TBR welcomes Sandra Sookoo

TBR: Welcome to TBR, Sandra. Will you share a little bit about yourself?
Sandra: I’m an author of romantic fiction in multiple genres and heat levels. I also love baking, Disney World, tea and the Big Bang Theory.

TBR: Tell us about Lady Parker’s Grand Affair and where it's available.
Sandra: Lady Parker’s Grand Affair is my debut Regency historical and the first in the Scandal in Surrey series. I had as much fun writing it as I did researching for it. Although I’ve written historical stories in many other time periods, I never thought I’d tackle the Regency because it intimidated me. But then, I came up with a great idea and plunged in with both feet. And what’s more, I love it!

At the time of filling out these questions, the book wasn’t released yet, but will become available on June 19th from Amazon, All Romance ebooks and Smashwords.

TBR: Please tantalize us with a story blurb or excerpt.
Sandra: My pleasure!

She wants an affair…Maggie, Lady Parker desires a man, but she’s not willing to leave freedom in Surrey to find scandal in London. Widowed for years, she wants to conduct a big enough scandal that a gentleman might come calling merely to see if the rumors about her are true.

He wants a shot at Parliament…Stephen Tarkington is a self-professed rogue but if he had his way, he’d be a philanthropist.  The only thing prohibiting his dream is his lack of sponsorship for a spot in Parliament. Marrying Lady Parker’s niece could solve his problem.

Sometimes the heart wants more…Imagine his surprise when he meets the widow and she’s not an old bird he can charm. She’s vibrant, sharp-tongued and enchanting to boot. Passion flares between them, and Stephen gives up on his plan… in search of a more pleasurable gamble.

Maggie is immediately drawn to the charming, handsome gentleman, but will a simple affair fulfill her needs? A scrape with public scandal will toss them into a situation that may just satisfy both of their secret desires.

TBR: Are you a plotter or pantser?
Sandra: A plotter for sure. I like to think of my outlines as a “road map” so I can pick up where I left off after time away. Usually the endings are still a mystery to me though.

TBR: Do you have a favorite quote you’d like to share?
Sandra: 'A writer never has a vacation. For a writer, life consists of either writing or thinking about writing.' Eugene Ionesco

TBR: Did any music inspire your book? Do you have a playlist?
Sandra: Not on this project, but generally I do.

TBR: While creating your books, what was one of the most surprising things you learned?
Sandra: That a little piece of me always ends up in each story, whether I realize it or not. Sometimes I catch it on the read throughs LOL

TBR: Tease us with one little thing about your fictional world that makes it different from others.
Sandra: My stories always carry a bit of humor. It might be subtle but it’s always there no matter what the genre. Plus, I always try to look at an issue from a different direction than the usual.

TBR: What's next for you?
Sandra: Right now I’m working on the third Regency in the Scandal in Surrey series, plus a fun little paranormal novella.

TBR: Any other published works?
Sandra: Definitely! Pop over to my website http://www.sandrasookoo.com There’s always something new going on over there.

TBR: What’s the most interesting comment you have received about your books?
Sandra: Several people have told me I’m on their auto-buy lists. That is a huge compliment and always makes me proud of what I’m doing.

TBR: Is there anything you’d like to ask our readers?
Sandra: What would you love to read? Maybe it’s something not out there yet, maybe it’s a well-known trope. Whatever it is, let me know and you might just see it from me in the future!

TBR: Readers, Sandra Sookoo will give away a free download of a backlisted book (2012 titles not included) plus book swag to one lucky commenter. She'll pick a winner on June 22nd and announce the winner here. Be sure to leave your email address so she can contact you.
