  1. Provex City by Michael Pierce

***FREE to download on Amazon this weekend only***

Fifteen-year-old Oliver Grain begins his school year fighting off bullies, learning about the boy who committed suicide in his room, and trying to understand why his history teacher, Mr. Gordon, has taken such a personal interest in him.

Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe you can make bullies simply disappear? Do you believe you can walk through walls?

Mr. Gordon tells Oliver: "When you truly believe anything is possible, you will be able to open doors where there were only walls." And one of those doors leads Oliver to Provex City, which puts him in far greater danger than he can possibly fathom.

  2. Reaper by L.S. Murphy

    Coming January 7th, 2013

There’s no way sixteen year old Quincy Amarante will become the fifth grim reaper. None. Not over her shiny blue Mustang. Her Jimmy Choos. Or her dead body.

She’s supposed to enjoy her sophomore year, not learn about some freaky future Destiny says she has no choice but to fulfill.

It doesn’t take long for Quincy to realize the only way out of the game is to play along especially since Death can find her anyway, anywhere, anytime. And does.

Like when she’s reassuring her friends she wants nothing to do with former best friend Ben Moorland, who’s returned from god-knows-where, and fails. Miserably.

Instead of maintaining her coveted popularity status, Quincy’s goes down like the Titanic.

    Maybe … just maybe … that’s okay.

It seems, perhaps, becoming a grim reaper isn’t just about the dead but more about a much needed shift in Quincy’s priorities—from who she thinks she wants to be to who she really is.

  6. The Tales of Abu Nuwas
    Marva Dasef

Abu Nuwas sits in the bazaar on his threadbare rug; a cup and sign proclaim him a teller of tales. For one small coin, he bids passers by to listen. A poor girl, Najda, sells spices from a tray. Would he, she asks, trade a tale for a packet of spice? Abu Nuwas agrees and begins the epic adventures of a girl and her genie.

As did Scheherazade before him, Abu leaves Najda hanging in the middle of each yarn to keep her coming back. Between stories, he questions the girl about her life. He discovers that she’s been promised in marriage to an old man whom she hates, but she must wed him to save her sick mother’s life. The rich bridegroom will pay for the doctors the mother needs. Meanwhile, Najda sells spices in the market to earn enough money to keep her mother alive.

While relating the fantastical accounts, the old man grows to admire the spice girl, and vows to find a way to help her. Listening to the stories of evil genies, demons, flying horses, dragons, viziers, princes, pirates, and nomadic raiders, young Najda finds her salvation with the help of Abu Nuwas, the TELLER OF TALES.

  8. Beatrice Beecham's Houseful of Horrors
    by Dave Jeffery

Dorsal Finn is a sleepy town, nestled in a small crescent shaped bay, facing the gleaming Atlantic Ocean.

In its one hundred and ninety-eight year history the town has come to know mystery and skullduggery like the dearest of friends, so much so it has now become quite normal to have the odd explosion here or missing person there without many of the townsfolk raising as much as an eyebrow.

And it is in the town of Dorsal Finn that one Beatrice Beecham now resides, a girl of remarkable talent amongst which is an absolute, innate gift for finding trouble.

Within these pages are all kinds of trouble: witches, shaman, and sea monsters, to name but a few.

Yet Beatrice is to find out that of all the terrible things lurking in the shows of Dorsal Finn, the biggest threat may come from the town itself.

  11. From Half Moon Falls
I was only thirteen when my life came to an end. My real life, I mean. In the summer, when tourists stop at the gift shop, they smile and tell me I must be the luckiest kid in the world. They go on about the beaches, campgrounds, parks, hiking trails and bicycle paths that are all just so beautiful they can't wait to tell their friends. 'Half Moon Falls is simply one of the very, very best places to spend a vacation.' they say. I smile and nod. But I know better. Because after they've all gone home, this quaint little town becomes a very different place. A place where shadows stalk lost travelers, where shuttered storefronts, empty streets and chain locked gates bid no one welcome, where ripped and tattered "Welcome to Half Moon Falls" banners flap wildly in sub-zero winds like ancient battle flags. It is at this time of year we huddle in terror as the sirens blare and the Harkeners roam the streets.
