TBR welcomes Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy

TBR: Welcome to TBR, Lee Ann. Will you share a little bit about yourself?
Lee Ann: I write romance from sweet to heat, from historical to contemporary.  I  grew up in a blue collar neighborhood in the old river town of St. Joseph, Missouri where the past always seemed close enough to touch.  My Granny shared stories of love and life and when Grandma took me along to the beauty shop, I learned more than any child should about romance!  As soon as I got old enough, I did my own field research into the subject.   Now I live in a small town in the Ozarks in what passes for the suburbs, I write romance full time, chase after my two teenage daughters and try to keep up with my eleven year old son.  My husband trails along, handing out my business cards to everyone we meet.

TBR: Tell us about Guy's Angel and where it's available.
Lee Ann: I’m writing this in advance of publication but beginning June 3, Guy’s Angel will be available at Amazon, All Romance, Bookstrand, Barnes and Noble…here are the links to my author pages at Amazon and All Romance Ebooks:

TBR: Please tantalize us with a story blurb or excerpt.
Lee Ann:
Guy’s Angel:
When a young woman really believes the sky is the limit, amazing things can happen….

Lorraine Ryan wants to fly airplanes so she heads for the local airstrip in 1925 to make her dream come true.  Most of the flyboys think she’s cute but a woman’s place is in the home, not the cockpit.   When Guy Richter steps up and offers to teach her to fly, she’s captivated with both Guy and flight.  He nicknames her “Angel” and takes her up into that wild blue yonder.  Before long, they’re deep in love.

Love, however, isn’t always enough……

Guy, a former World War I flying ace, is haunted by his past. His demons include his war service, the death of his only brother in an accident the previous year, and the Valkyries that he evaded in France who trail him in the hopes that they can complete his destiny.  But his dreams lie with Angel and as they grow closer and closer, he soon realizes that if anyone can save him, it’s his Angel

TBR: Are you a plotter or pantser?
Lee Ann: When I start a new WIP I always know how it begins and how it will end but the middle is open so I guess I’m a pantser.

TBR: Do you have a favorite quote you’d like to share?
Lee Ann: My late grandfather said “There’s no such word as can’t because you can do anything”.  I was raised on the idea and it’s helped me persevere in a very tough business to crack.

TBR: What's next for you?
Lee Ann: I have the following upcoming releases from Rebel Ink Press in 2012:
“Heart of the Ozarks” contemporary romance August 3, “Dustbowl Dreams”, a historical romance September 17, and “Kosovo Tales”, a collection of related short fiction with the same theme and characters, October.

TBR: What’s the most challenging aspect of writing? Most rewarding?
Lee Ann: Promotion is the biggest challenge and balancing it with enough time to write.  The most rewarding is creating stories.  I love it – it’s like reading intensified to the max.

TBR: What’s the most interesting comment you have received about your books?
Lee Ann: I had someone call my work “blue jeans prose” and I love it.  Another reviewer terms my work “Wal-Mart chic” and I like that too.

TBR: Where can readers find you on the web?
Lee Ann: I’m on Facebook (Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy), Twitter (@leeannwriter), on LinkedIn, Pinster, etc.  I also have several blogs but the main two are A Page In The Life (http://leeannsontheimermurphywriterauthor.blogspot.com) and Rebel Writer: Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy http://leeannsontheimermurphy.blogspot.com

TBR: Readers, Lee Ann will give away one ebook copy of Guy’s Angel to one lucky commenter. She'll pick a winner within three days and announce the winner here. Be sure to leave your email address so she can contact you.

Thanks for visiting TBR, Lee Ann. Best of luck to you.
